He wasn't going anywhere at all. Not away from Vegas and not away from this contact. Instead, Pete just smiled and moved his hands up to stroke through that dark hair. Lightly, he pressed his forehead to Vegas'.
A quiet sob followed. Vegas wrapped his arms around Pete and tugged him as close as he possibly could. Had he ever loved anyone before Pete? Macau, maybe, but not in the same way. Not in that all-seeing, all-consuming way he and Pete loved each other. Yet, he couldn't find the words to ask if Pete understood that; understood how important he was to Vegas. How important his unwavering acceptance was.
Pete moved in close so that way Vegas could easily cling to him. His fingers ran through dark hair as he not only soothed his husband but let him know that it was okay to be vulnerable like this around him. He could cry if he needed to. He would still be there for him and love him.
How did he get so lucky, Vegas wondered. Pete had every reason to hate him and yet... here he was newly married to the monster who kept him captive and tortured him. A monster Vegas saw reflected in Pete's eyes. Something he kept under wraps. Something mostly for Vegas to see? Perhaps going forward.
Vegas clung for a few minutes until his eyes were dry, oh so grateful for Pete's quiet acceptance of his emotional outburst. When he finally pulled away, he swiped the back of his hand over his eyes and sighed.
Cuddling would be good. They could just lounge and be lazy until they got hungry or something else came up to distract them from idleness. After the crying, he was finally getting soft, but still keenly aware that he was inside Pete. He reached under the water to pat his hips.
"Oh is that how it works?" he asked playfully but managed to slide away to go sit next to Vegas. Mainly to give himself a second so his hips and back could work enough to be able to stand up and get out. Or at least help Vegas with the whole process. Either way it was nice to watch that sexy body rise up out of the water.
Vegas sucked in a breath when Pete moved and lingered just a moment more before gripping the edge of the bath to push himself to his feet. Once he stepped out of the tub, he wrapped a towel around his waist, then threw another over his arm before turning to offer a hand to Pete. He might need a little more than one hand to get out, but Vegas was prepared for that.
Here went nothing. Taking that hand, he did manage to get up. But he also managed to fall against Vegas, arms reaching out to wrap around the man as he yelped. Blinking, he looked up at him then burst out laughing. "Oops!"
Vegas instinctively wrapped his arms around Pete to keep him from falling any further. They hooked under his arms and supported his weight with ease. After a beat, Vegas joined in the laughter.
"Well I can't complain about the view!" Pete laughed some more then used Vegas' support to get out of the tub, sitting on the edge of it since his legs were shaky. "It's a good thing we stole that wheelchair."
He snorted a laugh and began patting the rivulets of water from Pete's body with the extra towel. Vegas always knew that Pete had a body under his clothes -- he had to as a bodyguard -- but he appreciated it even more right now as he ran the towel over toned muscle and warm skin. That was all for him now and he couldn't help smiling at the thought.
"What kind of husband would I be if I didn't plan to get you back to bed safely?"
"That goes without saying," he quipped. He fished with the towel and tossed it aside to get Pete's robe and help him into it. Once it was wrapped around him, Vegas helped him up to close it and then guided him back to the wheelchair. That damn thing was going to get some mileage at this rate!
When Pete was seated, Vegas caressed his face gently. "I'm gonna be good to you, Pete."
Settling into the wheelchair, he looked up at Vegas. Those words were so much than a simple sentence and he knew that. His husband was making a promise to him. One he appreciated as he leaned his hand into the touch, closing his eyes to savor it.

"We're turning pruney."

"You're a pretty nice looking prune."
They really should get out though. Dry off then go cuddle in the bed.
