In every sense of the word. Vegas couldn't imagine life without Pete at his side. Without Pete's love and support, without his understanding and acceptance. Without his fucking sass. But also the sex and kink and the pushing of boundaries. Pete was the total package, practically made for Vegas. Maybe he was? Not like Vegas believed in things like soulmates.
He lifted a hand to lay against Pete's cheek and leaned in for a soft kiss.
Even in the dark he could see the warmth in Pete's eyes so clearly. And that? That made all the pain, emotional and physical, worth it to Vegas. The way Pete looked at him in their most private moments left him breathless. He smiled and chuckled softly. "We better get cleaned up before we get tired."
Pete gave him a pout and stuck his tongue out at him. "Already tired, asshole," he muttered without any actual heat. It wasn't like he was really upset with Vegas. But part of their relationship definitely banked on him sassing his boyfriend every chance he had.
That's part of Pete's charm. Vegas would think something was actually wrong if Pete didn't give him attitude. They could just shed their clothes and deal with what was on the bedding for the night. Surely that wouldn't be too terrible.
"Shush. Be a good boy and get undressed. If you get cold I'll get you something clean to wear."
Loved it actually. Wiggling a little, he pulled back enough so he could sit up and pull his clothes off, kicking them away to the side. Then it was back under the covers so he could reach over to help Vegas get undressed too.
"I am lucky," Vegas retorted. He sat up, too, to make getting the t-shirt over his head a little easier. Once it was gone and tossed aside, he ducked under the covers and graced Pete with a saucy grin as he helped Vegas get his pants off.
As soon as the clothes were gone, which really took the brunt of the mess, Vegas was quick to pull Pete close once more. For some reason, he slept easier with Pete by his side. Maybe it was just the comfort of something familiar. Vegas couldn't say why, nor did he question it.
He combed his fingers through Pete's hair and leaned in to press their foreheads together. Even his legs tangled with Pete's again. "Get some sleep, babe."
He knew that Vegas would but it felt good to say it anyway. Much like it felt so good to be able to sleep with him like this. The two of them curled in so tight together, limbs tangled up and everything so warm. It just felt right.
He smiled again as he closed his eyes, letting himself drift off wrapped up in Vegas.
